Exam interrupted as Rugipo students protest, Property worth millions damaged.


Today, 22 Jan, 2018. Students of Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, owo [RUGIPO] expressed their displeasure at the management decision to implement the “No School Fees, No Exam” policy.

Unfortunately, today was supposed to be the start of the long awaited 2nd semester exam.

Hundreds of Students were gathered outside  the school main gate while some others who already entered the school before the incident were seen moving and speaking in one voice.

It was alledged that the protest started after some set of guys tore question and answer booklet at a particular exam venue after they learnt the school was serious about their intentions.

The School Management had earlier released circulars stating their intentions of operating with the policy, the management even had to make announcement on Radio too.

Properties worth millions of Naira were damaged during the protest. The School ict complex was destroyed, the rector’s office and  the School farm was also attacked
